When will it start?

I would like to begin this process in September.  In total, I would like to have at least fifteen over the course of the year. 

Professional Development Topic Ideas

1. The Wonderful World of Wiki - Check out what wikis are and how they work.  Learn about the new possibilities of student and staff collaboration.
2. Free Class Website #1 - Not much of a techno-geek?  No problem! Using google pages, you can create a class website that you can host for free, create with few skills and edit from anywhere.
3. Free Class Website #2 - This is geared toward teachers with an intermediate technology knoweledge level.  Learn how to use NVU to create a dynamic, powerful class website. 
4. Podcasts - Learn how to create and edit podcasts using Garage Band
5. Video - The new teacher computers have an advanced program called iMovie.  With just a digital camera and some know-how, students can create documentaries, newscasts and short video clips. 
6. Discussion Board - Develop your own discussion board for class as an alternative method of homework.  It leads to a more authentic feel and instant feedback. 
7. Top ten free programs - Learn about the new freeware movement and how you can use free programs within your classroom. 
8. Google Docs and Spreadsheets - Google's document and spreadsheet program allows multiple users to edit the same document from anywhere.  Check out the ways you can implement it into the classroom.
9. New literacy - Blogs, discussion boards, word processing and text message suggest that literacy is changing.  Find out how you can take advantage of these new methods to help increase students' writing skills.
